2019 Photo & Haiku Contests

Submit Entries from March 25-April 5

 

CALLING ALL PHOTOGRAPHERS

We invite all DOE Federal and Contractor employees to share images in the following six categories:

  1. Conservation
  2. Community
  3. Renewable Energy
  4. Resilience
  5. Energy Efficiency
  6. Comprehensive

How to Enter:

  1. Submit photographs via web link found on Powerpedia or accessed at https://earthday.pec1.net/Default.aspx
  2. Photos can be submitted from March 25 thru April 5, 2019 at 6 pm ET.
  3. Maximum ONE (1) photograph entry per category.

Judging:

Winners in each category will be determined by votes from the Earth Day Planning Committee.  Winners will be announced April 23, 2019, at the Earth Day Kick-off Meeting, and will be notified via email.  The winning photographs will also be featured on the DOE Earth Day Powerpedia page.

CALLING ALL POETS

We invite all DOE Federal and Contractor employees to write an Earth Day themed Haiku to submit for our contest.

What is a Haiku?:

Haiku is a Japanese poem of seventeen syllables, in three lines of five, seven, and five, traditionally evoking images of the natural world.  See the example above, which features last year’s winner.

How to Enter:

Submit your Haiku via web link found on Powerpedia or accessed at https://earthday.pec1.net/Default.aspx.  Haikus can be submitted from March 25 thru April 5, 2019, at 6 pm ET.

Judging:
