On March 27, the House Science and National Labs Caucus sponsored a Congressional briefing and reception to highlight how the Department of Energy’s national laboratories strengthen America through science and technology innovation. The event, which was sponsored in part by Berkeley Lab, featured DOE Under Secretary for Science, Paul Dabbar (pictured), and a panel of speakers from Magic Leap, The Dow Chemical Company, GE, C4 Therapeutics, and the Department of Defense.
Magic Leap is a mixed reality technology company that works at the Molecular Foundry to develop new, versatile ways to control and enhance the light-bending properties of synthetic optical nanostructures. Dow has partnered with a number of Berkeley Lab researchers, including at the Molecular Foundry and the Advanced Light Source, to work on projects involving catalysis, photovoltaics, and other materials research.
The event was attended by roughly 100 members of Congress and their staff, including Representatives Andy Fleischmann, Robert Foster, Lee Zeldin, and Jerry McNerny.
