IGB Building Dedicated Wednesday; Expect Traffic Delays and Parking Impacts

June 14, 2019

On Wednesday, June 19 the Lab’s new Integrative Genomics Building (IGB) will be dedicated during an invitation-only event from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Located at the former site of the Bevatron, the IGB is the future home of DOE’s Joint Genome Institute (JGI) and Systems Biology Knowledgebase (KBase). Move-in is scheduled to begin in September.

Expect traffic delays near the roundabout northeast of Building 50 (at Chu, Smoot, and Alvarez roads) during this time. Please drive carefully near the site, as guests unfamiliar with the area may be walking or driving in the area.

Parking lots H1, H2, and J will have some spaces reserved for guests. Stacked parking in Lot D, the Pit, will be available starting on Wednesday. Bus stops located next to the IGB (stops at B56A and B91) will be temporarily closed during the ceremony, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
