Dear colleagues,
Berkeley Lab will be open for business as usual on Monday, as Alameda and Contra Costa counties continue on alert only at this time for a Pacific Gas & Electric public safety power shutoff (PSPS). PG&E has put parts of other northern California counties on a public safety power shutoff watch for the next few days as the weather is forecast to be warm with dry offshore winds.
The Lab’s Emergency Operations Center will continue to monitor the situation in case the alert status of Alameda and Contra Costa counties changes. Information will be provided via LabAlert, emails, status.lbl.gov, and at 1-800-445-5830.
PG&E is using public safety power shutoffs to reduce the possibility of wildfires during high winds and other conditions that can lead to a wildfire. You can follow the PG&E weather forecasting model to learn more.
See the Lab’s emergency website for more information on how you can prepare at home and at work for a public safety power shutdown.
