Kelly Laverty has been a UCPath Change Leader since 2014 when she worked on the first UCPath implementation at UC Santa Barbara. With her experience, she has developed a systemwide change and communications approach to the change that is UCPath. She says the Lab is a different environment, and Kelly appreciates how inquisitive and adaptable people are at the Lab.
Elements: What is UCPath?
UCPath is the UC systemwide HR and payroll system that will replace the Lab’s current system in the Spring of 2020. UCPath includes a new employee and manager portal for submitting transactions as well as managing personal data and tax withholdings, viewing pay statements, and enrolling in direct deposit and benefits. Transactions will be processed by the new UCPath Center. The Lab’s existing HR Shared Services will continue to provide local support to Lab employees.
Elements: What is your part in bringing UCPath to the Lab?
UCPath represents a business transformation effort across the Lab for HR and payroll processes. As the lead for the Change, Communications, and Training workstream, I am working with the core project team as well as meeting with stakeholders to facilitate the change management activities and execute the communication strategy to inform the Lab community about changes as a result of UCPath.
Elements: Where can one learn more?
A Change Network of individuals across the Lab has been formed to be the first line of contact and be valuable resources for information and questions about UCPath. To learn more about UCPath and who your Area Change Agents are, you can visit the UCPath project website: ucpath.lbl.gov.
