Situation #1:
When an employee, affiliate, user, or guest at a Lab facility reports they have flu-like symptoms or appears to have flu-like symptoms:
- The employee receiving the information should notify their supervisor.
- A supervisor should talk with the individual and ask them to take appropriate action to follow prudent health practices which include taking sick leave and/or teleworking, and seeking advice from their personal health care provider as necessary.
Situation #2:

- The host or supervisor should email CIMG@LBL.GOV with a description of the occurrence and names of employees who may have had contact with the individual. Providing these names allows the Lab’s Health Services to have a contact list in case the individual becomes symptomatic.
- The host or supervisor should be in regular contact with the individual to see if they become symptomatic during the 14-day isolation period.
- If the individual reports symptoms, contact the Critical Incident Management Group via the Site Operations Center at 510-486-6999. The CIMG will work with Health Services on prudent next actions.
